Will Williamson County Pick-up our Downed Trees? 2/10/23

Hi Neighbors,

Many of you have been asking whether there will be a Federal, State or County response to citizens in Williamson County after the Ice Storm the week of January 30, 2023. The Williamson County Commissioners met on Tuesday 2/7/23 and voted not to pick-up trees and branches that fell during the historic ice storm; UNLESS, the trees and branches fell on county roads and the county trucks previously pushed the debris off roadways early in the storm.

Unfortunately, there will not be federal or state assistance either. However, there are two options for us:

  1. We may burn the tree and branch debris if our Emergency Services District (ESD) permits burning. Please check with Round Rock Fire Station 9 at 2721 Sam Bass Rd, Round Rock, TX 78681 or 512-341-3162 to determine whether there is a current burn ban in effect.
  2. Williamson County Landfill is currently only charging $10.00 + tax for a truckload of tree and branch debris to help residents in their clean-up efforts. The landfill is located at 600 Landfill Road, Hutto, TX 78634. Their contact information is (512) 759-8881.
    • Their hours of operation are:
      • Monday- Friday: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Hand Unloading: 7 a.m – 4 p.m)
      • Saturday: 7 a.m. – noon
      • Sunday: Closed
      • Call for holiday hours

Thank-you,

TSHOA Board
